About Our Roots

Founded as Manley Tree Experts in 1949, brothers Dick & Martin Manley began what would eventually become a third generation family owned & operated business. Dick & Martin eventually began serving separate areas, each running their own company. Martin Manley Tree & Landscaping has been a mainstay in tree work in the Boston Metro-West area for seventy years, as well as branching to Cape Cod & Fort Lauderdale, Fl. Martin always had family as employees, with sons, nephews and grandsons being the staple of the workforce. The company was taken over by Martin's eldest son, Marty, and Martin continued working as a salesman until the day he died. Today, Manley Tree Care is owned by Marty's son Joseph. We believe in forming long lasting relationships with customers and their properties, preserving trees, and providing proper care to do so. Our experience allows for efficient and economical completion of the services provided, from ornamental pruning with hand tools, to large tree removals when necessary.

Meet the Manleys

In Memory of...

Martin Manley Sr. was a man who touched & shaped many lives. He was best known as "Martin Manley 'The Tree Man'", as he introduced himself on phone calls. He was a lifelong salesman, getting his start as a child, selling pond lilies and singing tunes door-to-door in Somerville. That experience transitioned well into selling tree work and he quickly became a legend in many areas west of Boston. To this day, people will inquire about him when they see the Manley Tree name. He cared for his family, customers, and any dog he came across.
